Zombies... THOUSANDS OF THEM! That's exactly what you're up against in Dead
Rising. You take on the roll of Frank West, a photojournalist who's got his
eye on one big scoop. Dead Rising takes place in the town of Willamette,
Colorado. Bypassing the national guard's barriers via helicopter, Frank finds
himself in a whole lot of trouble once he gets inside the mall. As you play
through the game, the dark and disturbing truth of the zombie outbreak becomes
all too clear. Frank encounters literally thousands of zombies, as well as a
crew of obligatory psychopaths. You'll never feel quite as safe while at the
mall again, with the knowledge that these lunatics are roaming about...

hope you can find the answers you are
looking for... now on to the FAQ!

-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~
- Tips [b03]
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

+------------------------------- General Tips -------------------------------+

- The Sledgehammer: This powerful, durable weapon can be obtained each time
you leave the security room. Instead of taking the elevator on the rooftop,
always go through the door on the left side of the area. Hop down off of the
walk way, move to the end of the shelf and then jump over to the shelf with
the sledgehammer on it. This weapon is great for cutting down a crowd of
undead. Simply hold the X button and Frank will swing the sledgehammer
around, knocking any zombies it connects with down. Make a habit of grabbing
this weapon whenever you leave the security room!

- Colombian Roastmasters: A restaurant on the second floor of the Paradise
Plaza. This restaurant has an unlimited supply of orange juice, which will
replenish your health by three squares. You can also find a katana on the
orange awning to the right of the fridge with the juice. Just jump out the
window, land on the awning and take the katana, then jump down below. Make
a habit of visiting the Colombian Roastmasters restaurant when you are in
the Paradise Plaza, if only to restore your supply of health items. If you
take two orange juices and combine them in the blender, you will receive the
special "Nectar" drink.

- Look out below: Though this may not happen often, if you ever find yourself
being forced to jump down from a high place, you can use the Knee Drop skill
to avoid taking damage and staggering Frank. If you jump down from a high
enough place, Frank will take some damage and stagger about, allowing
zombies below a clear shot at grabbing hold of him. While you are falling,
press X while pushing downwards on the left thumbstick.

- One man's garbage: If you ever find yourself surrounded and in desperate
need of a weapon, you might be able to find a weapon by picking up and
throwing a trashcan at a wall. When the trashcan breaks, the treasure (if
you consider a weapon treasure) will be revealed. Most often you can find
hunting knives, handguns and baseball bats. All great weapons when you need
to get out of a bind.

- Who turned out the lights?: It gets dark in the mall at around 12amish. To
combat this, you can grab a Toy Laser Sword from one of the toy stores in
the Paradise Plaza. With this item in your inventory, Frank will emit a
healthy red glow. Or is that healthy... you might want to get that checked
out.

- To save, or not to save: Dead Rising's saving system can be a little hard to
adjust to. You are given a single save slot, so you may end up inadvertently
saving yourself into a corner. To avoid this, you have to save smart. If you
are in the middle of a case and you notice that you do not have enough time
left, do not save the game! If you save the game at the wrong time, you may
not have enough time to finish the case, causing the trail to go cold. You
can still continue playing once you receive the "Truth has vanished" message
by selecting the "Return to Game" option. Though by doing this, you will not
be able to get the true ending and you will never learn the truth about the
mysterious zombie outbreak. Of course, you do want to know the whole story,
right? Here's what you'll have to do if you find yourself in this unfortunate
situation:

If you have a save prior to this, try to complete the case faster. If you
can't do this, there is no other option but to restart your game. Just make
sure that when you fail the cases you select "Save Status and Quit" from the
menu. This will carry over Frank's level from your current game when you
start a new one. Be warned though, that doing this will delete your current
save game. With Frank's buffed stats, you should be able to get back to the
point you were at much easier and more quickly than you did prior. Don't be
afraid to restart. Believe me, it will go by much faster than it did the
first time. It may sting a bit, but unless you don't mind just failing the
cases and getting a less impressive ending, you will have to restart.

- Zombies keeping you down: When you first start Dead Rising, Frank is quite
weak. The game is much harder when you are at a very low level such as 1-
15. If you are having a lot of trouble progressing, you can get to a
certain point that you are stuck on and then when you die select "Save
Status and Quit." When you do this, you will have to restart the game, but
Frank's stats will carry over. You can get some easy points in the beginning
of the game, such as the rooftop survivors and their PP photograph.

- Save the queen: If you see a zombie standing on the spot with its hands
flailing up in the air looking like it's in agony, apparently this isn't
normal zombie behavior. Kill zombies that fit this description and a queen
will appear from them. If you catch this queen and use it, all the zombies
in your immediate vicinity will fall down dead. These are very useful items,
try to save any queens that you obtain for dire situations as well as high
zombie population zones such as Al Fresca Plaza. These work great when esco-
rting someone as well, since you can use it to clear a small path for the
survivors you're working on rescuing.

- Through the warehouse: There is a secondary route in and out of the
warehouse. Go to where you found Natalie the first time out. There is a door
to the warehouse there. You will gain access on top of one of the shelves.
This is a good way to bypass the otherwise dangerous zombie-filled
elevators. This door can also be accessed from the inside by taking the
first right out of the tunnel, clearing the HDTVs out of the way, and
climbing on top of the shelves, via the wood boxes. From there, just hop
across to the room that contains the door. Keep in mind that survivors can
not travel this path and must take the elevator. ~ Credit to HAzmaT5793

- A mannequin torso? Is that right?: If you ever find yourself at a loss for
what to bring to a psychopath showdone, grab a mannequin torso. Seriously,
they're surprisingly effective. Disturbingly so...

+-------------------------------- Escort Tips -------------------------------+

- Don't lead, follow: Unfortunately, the AI in Dead Rising isn't the best.
This can make things a little frustrating while you are trying to save some
survivors and they continuously get attacked by zombies. In most cases, you
can't really count on a survivor to follow you, they frequently get trapped
in the middle of large packs of zombies which they can't handle, this ultim-
ately leads to their death. Unless you backtrack and help them, but this can
waste some valuable time, especially if you are in a rush. What you can do
is use the goal command to tell the survivors where to go. To use this hold
RT and press the Y button on the location you want them to go, such as a
door leading into the next area. Now help them get to this location by foll-
owing them and attacking the zombies in their path.

- Zombies? In my elevator? It's more likely than you think: When you are
making the journey back to the security room, you will unavoidably have
to ride the elevator up to the rooftop. The elevator, of course, is
absolutely packed with zombies. This can make things difficult if you
yourself or any survivors are injured. There are a couple of mannequins
just outside of the elevator. Pick one of these up, press the button to
open the elevator and give those zombies a face full of mannequin! While
the zombies are knocked down, you can press the switch to take the elevator
up to the rooftop. Any survivors with you do not need to be in the elevator,
they just need to be near it to travel up with you.

- Masochist: There is an item called Zombait that you can use to attract the
zombies towards you. This way they will ignore the survivors and simply go
after you. To make Zombait, take some Pie and Snacks, find a blender and mix
the two items. You should get some Zombait, keep this to use if an escort
mission is getting hectic. Though you are likely to take some extra damage
from all of the extra attention, you should be able to survive longer than
the survivors ever could, since you can swerve rather easily between the
zombies. Basically run to the entrance of the next area, fight off all of
the zombies that are coming for you until the survivors are close, then take
off into the next area.

- Zombies ate my survivors: If you are escorting a large group of survivors,
you really need to keep an eye on them because if you are running past a
group of zombies the survivors might get surrounded and trapped in the middle
of a mob of them. Some survivors seem to be dumber than others, if you are
running past zombies and reach a relatively clear area, look back and see
one or more survivors surrounded by zombies being attacked, press and hold
the RT button and tell the survivors with you to stand on the clear spot.
Now that the survivors that made it through won't follow you, run over to
aid the helpless survivors. When you have cleared the zombies surrounding
them, they run to the spot where the other survivor(s) are waiting. This
time you can help them get to this location.

- Braindamage: Sometimes when you have several survivors with you and you are
just outside the duct that leads back to the security room, the survivors
will bump into each other, unable to take turns climbing up the ledge.
Instead of jumping up and waiting for them to follow, as soon as you reach
the rooftop via the elevator, hold RT and press the Y button near the duct.
They should get up this way without any trouble. When they are all up, climb
up yourself and go through the duct to save the survivors.

- Something old: When escorting survivors that can be given weapons to defend
themselves, it is often a good idea to give them useful yet nearly broken/
ammo depleted weapons, because the use of the weapons in the survivor's
hands doesn't damage it or cost it ammo, if you know you're going to escort
survivors that the equip ability, it may be a good idea to save a nearly
broken battle axe or a shotgun with one shell left to give to them. ~ Credit

[*03] \ - Main Walkthrough -
--------\=====================================================================
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- In the Beginning - [w00]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the opening video, you can sit through a short helicopter ride over the
town of Willamette. This is a good time to familiarize yourself with the whole
picture taking aspect of Dead Rising. While on this short on-rails sequence,
you can use Frank's camera to take pictures of the sights, taking pictures with
something interesting in the shot will earn you some points. These points that
you earn will go towards Frank's level. As Frank levels up, he gets stronger,
faster, more life, learns new moves and is able to carry more items. There are
other ways to gain some points, but we will get to that once we are actually
inside the mall. This helicopter ride is completely optional, you can press
start to skip it if you're eager to bash some zombies. I suggest that you do
sit through the ride so you can earn some valuable points by taking pictures.

The camera controls are rather simple; you use the B button to zoom in and
the A button to zoom out. While you have something interesting in the shot,
press the X button to snap the shot. Once the picture has been taken, you'll
see a short summary of the shot and you will be rewarded with the points that
you earned. There are a few shots that you can take during the helicopter ride
to receive a good amount of points. Take a few pictures of the zombies pushing
up against the school bus near the beginning once you get close enough to
receive a fair amount of points. Further, a gas station will explode. Take a
couple pictures of it and the aftermath to gain a fair amount of points for
that. Those are the only real opportunities I noticed during the flight.

A couple more PP opportunities, credit to Alec Sputnik:
1) Have to get a picture of the gas station right when it explodes. You can
get 1,000 PP for that.
2) When Frank asks the pilot to go down near the building, you see a woman
with a gun trying to fend off some zombies. If you can get a picture of
the zombie falling off the edge, you get a ton of points, and if you can
shoot really fast and get a picture of the woman and a second zombie
falling, that is worth some good PP too. Oh, and then empty your roll
on the blood splatters on the ground, because you get a fresh camera
battery automatically when you land on the mall roof.

Credit to Dapo Odujebe:
You can also get a pic of the guy on the car just as he gets pulled off... and
when he gets attacked/eaten by the zombies.

When the chopper reaches the mall, after a short conflict, Frank will jump off
onto the helipad area. Frank meets a mysterious man on the roof, before proce-
eding through the door into the next area, take a picture of this man. To
switch to your camera, hold the left trigger down and press the X button to
take pictures. When you're ready, step through the door ahead leading to the
security room. The security room will act as a safe room throughout Dead
Rising, you can save using the green bed to the left down the stairs. Go
straight and enter the door with "Janitor's Room" printed on its glass. Open
the yellow door ahead and then proceed through the door marked "Staff Only."
Follow the long hall and exit out into the entrance plaza.

There are some more people in here, working hard to strengthen a barricade to
keep out the zombie horde that's waiting outside. You're quickly told to find
some objects to help build the barricade. You can take some pictures of the
people here to earn some additional points if you are so inclined. When you
are ready, run down the area opposite of the door. Approach the pile of items
to trigger another video sequence. Lindsay, in a foolish attempt to save her
dog, pulls open the door, allowing the zombies waiting outside to enter the
mall. Great. When you regain control over Frank, grab the two baseball bats
near the assortment of objects and start cracking some zombies. Unfortunately,
there isn't anything you can do to save the people in the entrance plaza.
You will have to fight your way to the second level of the entrance plaza.
Move towards the barricade, whacking any zombies in your path, and proceed up
the stairs that lead to the second level.

The door to the security room is quickly sealed. Inside you will meet a few
of the characters. Feel free to save your game at this point, so you won't
need to play through the opening sequence again if you end up dying at some
point. When you gain control over Frank, attempt to exit through the duct in
this area. Otis will hand over a transceiver and a map. Get used to talking
to this Otis guy, he won't give you a break. He's constantly calling you on
the transceiver, sometimes at the most unideal of times. Try receiving a call
from Otis when you're running through the mall with only a stepladder as a
means of defending yourself surrounded by dozens of zombies. If something
happens to you, either you use a weapon or are struck by an enemy, Otis will
call you right back. Sorry for being rude Otis, was just busy trying to keep a
zombie from biting my head off here!

Once you've stepped through the duct, you'll find yourself on the rooftop. Hop
down to the lower level and head to your right. You will meet a man named Jeff
near the elevator, talk to him using the B button. Jeff will join you, and
you'll learn a little bit about escorting. Take Jeff all the way to the other
end of the rooftop. You'll encounter a woman named Natalie, the one Jeff is
searching for. Get your camera ready, when Jeff and Natalie are reunited they
will hug. Stand close to them and snap a picture of this event when the little
PP icon appears over them. If your shot was good enough, you can receive
10,000 points for this, earning you an achievement in the process.

Escorting is unarguably the best way to gain points so you can grow levels
quickly. Escorts will never be as easy as this one though, keep that in mind
as things sometimes get very hectic during escort missions. With Jeff and
Natalie in party, lead them back through the duct and into the security room.
Make sure that they're on the upper level, or they won't follow you through
the duct. With Jeff and Natalie safely back in the security room, go back
through the duct and take the door to the far left of the rooftop into the
warehouse area. Otis gives you a call on the transceiver, he quickly explains
the layout of the mall to you. Follow the catwalk and jump down onto the shelf
below. Move to the end of this shelf and jump across to the shelf with the
sledgehammer on it. The sledgehammer, in my experience, is a great weapon to
use. It is very powerful and durable too. Try to grab this weapon each time
you are leaving the security room, it'll serve you well. If you drop down from
this height, you should earn the Freefall achievement just like that.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Case 1 - [w01]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==============================================================================
...Backup For Brad............................................................
==============================================================================
Move to the end of the warehouse and follow the hall leading to the paradise
plaza. As you approach the door, you will encounter the DHS agent that you met
in the security room, Jessie. This is the start of Case 1. You must travel to
the food court, where you will need to help Jessie's partner, Brad. Take the
door to the Paradise Plaza. Press the left button on the directional pad to
bring out your watch, press the A button to select "Backup For Brad." With
this selected, an arrow will appear at the top of the screen, following this
area, you will be lead to the food court where the mission will take place.
I'm going to point out a couple of points of interest in the paradise plaza
before we proceed. If you head straight ahead from the door that you just
came through, you can find a set of steps to your right leading to the second
level of the paradise plaza. Climb these steps and move down the walkway.

To your left is the "Colombian Roastmasters." This is a great place to stock
up on some food supplies. Food restores your health, simply select the food
and press the X button to eat/drink it. The orange juice that you can find
here restores three squares of health, so take as many of them from the fridge
as you can. Get in the habit of visiting this area whenever you are in the
paradise plaza to stock up on supplies. You should always have some type of
food with you, you never know when you'll need to restore your health and you
don't want to be caught without some way of healing yourself in a dire situa-
tion. Just to the right of the fridge with the orange juice, you can jump out
of the window and onto the orange awning to pick up a katana. This is a great
weapon to use against the zombies, though it doesn't last very long. Hop down
off of the awning and follow the arrow, it will lead you outside to the
"Leisure Park" area.

This is a large, outdoor area that you will need to traverse to get to the
food court where Brad is in need of assistance. Luckily, since the area is
so large, it is very easy to simply run past all of the zombies here, as they
are rather spread apart at most points. Continue following the area to the
door leading into the food court. There is a large group of zombies just
outside of here, you should be able to easily cleave a path through here
with the katana you picked up earlier. Cut your way through and open the
door leading to the food court. Inside, you will see Brad in the middle of
a gun fight with the man you met on the helipad area when you first arrived
at the mall.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Carlito -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

Psychopaths are the bosses of Dead Rising. You'll encounter plenty of
psychopaths throughout the game. Your first psychopath fight is against
Carlito, the strange man that you first encountered on the rooftop area.
Carlito, for some reason, is attacking Brad. You need to help him repel
the strange man without either of you dying. Luckily, Carlito is quite
easy, this being your first psychopath battle and all. After the short
video, once you regain control over Frank, you can grab some wine bottl-
es from the counter here, if you are low on health items. Brad has given
you another handgun, so you shouldn't run out of ammo while you are
fighting Carlito.

Although it may seem like a good idea, don't climb up the boxes to get
up to the area where Carlito is gunning from. Carlito's gun is very
powerful, so it won't do you much good since you will be stuck in place
while you are being shot at. Instead, stand behind the platform that he
is on and take some shots at him with your handgun. If you can manage to
get some shots on his head, this'll do more damage. Carlito does move
around a lot, so try to get a few shots at him as he moves between cover.
Once Carlito's health is lower, he will move from the platform and take
cover behind the signs above the line of food stands. While he is up
there, he will be throwing bombs down at you. Aim your handgun and shoot
at Carlito, when he throws a bomb down quickly move away from it, aim at
him and continue shooting.

It's very easy to get a couple of headshots in while Carlito is throwing
a bomb down, just make sure that you don't stand near the bomb for too
long or it will go off. If you are low on health, take cover behind
something and eat/drink something to bring your health back up. Remember
there are some wine bottles on the bar if you need something. Once you
have dealt enough damage to Carlito, he will quickly retreat.

==============================================================================
...An Odd Old Man.............................................................
==============================================================================
After the short video, follow Brad through the Food Court and outside to the
Al Fresca Plaza. If you turn to your right, you can enter the Flexin gym here
and save your game via the door up against the wall straight ahead to the
right. Straight across from the gym, you can find McHardy's Hardware store.
Inside, you will find sledgehammers as well as soon chainsaws. Chainsaws cut
through zombies like a hot knife through butter, so consider grabbing one to
help you move through Al Fresca Plaza. Follow Brad to the other end of this
area and into the entrance plaza. Brad raises the gate for a short while,
allowing you to enter the entrance plaza from this way. Follow Brad through
the plaza, you will encounter an old man who has locked himself in a store.
There is nothing you can do for him at this point.

==============================================================================
...A Temporary Agreement......................................................
==============================================================================
Unfortunately you'll need to travel all the way back through the Al Fresca
Plaza, through the food court, through the Leisure Park and back into the
Paradise Plaza to reach the security room. The warehouse area is no longer
zombie free, it is now full of zombies and the elevator is too, so be ready
for that. Ride the elevator up, step through the duct and enter the security
room. Step through the yellow door here to trigger a short video. That's it
for the first case. You've now got some free time to waste until the next case
begins.

It starts at 6:00AM, so you can spend some time now going after achievements
or completing some scoop missions that you have undoubtedly received from Otis
by now. You can view the "Scoops" section of this guide for information on all
of the scoops that occur on September 19th. If you travel back to the Entrance
Plaza, you can find a man named Bill in the "In The Closet" store on the 2nd
level. Talk to him and eventually when he realizes what has happened, talk to
him again and he will follow you.

- Case 2 - [w02]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==============================================================================
...Image In The Monitor.......................................................
==============================================================================
Case 2 begins at 6:00AM on September the 20th. Get to the security room after
6:00AM to trigger a short cutscene. On the monitor, You will witness none
other than Carlito dragging Dr. Barnaby from the store he was locked inside
in the entrance plaza. I'll give you a fair warning now: If you are trying
to complete all of the scoop missions as the cases, you will have a lot more
trouble managing your time during the second day. Some of the scoops here will
conflict with your cases, depending on how fast you progress, you may need to
skip some scoops for now since cases are more important. If you want to try
and complete all the scoops, you'll need to use this walkthrough in conjunct-
ion with the Scoops section, since many of them will have to be completed
while you are on a case.

==============================================================================
...Rescue the Professor.......................................................
==============================================================================
You now have to set out with Brad to rescue the professor. Leave the security
room and take the door into the warehouse. Be sure to grab the sledgehammer
here, you'll need it. You will be fighting Carlito again in this mission, make
sure to bring plenty of health supplies and if you have killed Cletus in the
Huntin' Shack in the North Plaza, take a couple of shotguns with you. To get
to the Entrance Plaza where Dr. Barnaby is being held, thankfully the shutter
in the Paradise Plaza that was hindering your access to this area has been
lifted. All you need to do is exit the warehouse, then turn around and enter
the Entrance Plaza from this opening. Here you will witness a short video.
Before you proceed, you can grab an SMG that will help you against Carlito
in the Paradise Plaza.

Psychopath!! - Carlito -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

There's nothing you can do for Dr. Barnaby at this point. Before you can
rescue the professor, you will have to defeat Carlito here. Once again,
Brad is here to help you fight Carlito. When you gain control of Frank
after the video, quickly locate the stairs that lead up to the second
level of the Entrance Plaza and get yourself up there. Carlito has a
sniper rifle this time around, so he is a lot more deadly than when you
first encountered him. If you only have a handgun, it won't help you
very much against Carlito this time. Melee weapons or a powerful gun
such as the sniper rifle or shotgun is the way to go here. If you went
into the warehouse area via the doorway, the sledgehammer on one of the
shelves will help you here.

You'll need to use the various shops in this area to your advantage. Run
and take cover in one of them, wait until Carlito's attention is focused
on Brad, then quickly run from cover and hide in another store that is
closer to him. Do this until you are close enough to run out and smash
him with your melee weapon. Stay hidden in the store near him, when he
is aiming for Brad, run out and hit him a couple of times. Of course,
Carlito won't stay in one spot, so you will have to run after him. The
sniper rifle is a very powerful weapon that can take off two blocks of
your health with one shot, as well as send you flying back. Though it
may not do much good, try to jump around from side to side as you are
chasing Carlito, just until you come to another store that you can hide
in. Find a store fast, because Carlito will turn around and focus on you
once there is enough distance between you.

While you a hitting him with your melee weapon, only hit him two times
at the most. When you are close to him, he will use his sniper rifle to
hit you over the head, which deals a fair amount of damage to you. The
sledgehammer should be able to cut down Carlito's health a fair bit,
just use the standard X button attack to hit him over the head with it.
If you have an SMG, sniper rifle, or shotgun, just use the same method,
but instead pop out from cover and shoot him with the gun instead of
running up to him and hitting him with the melee weapon.

==============================================================================
...Medicine Run...............................................................
==============================================================================
Brad is injured and you need to run down to the market in the North Plaza to
retrieve some medicine to lower his fever. If you have completed the "Cut From
The Same Cloth" scoop mission that initiates the 19th, you can get that erotic
photo that Kent requires at this point. While Jessie is sitting down on the
bed next to Brad, back up from her and take out your camera. Zoom in and focus
on her crotch, but make sure that her breasts are in still in the shot. You
should get 700-1,000 points for this erotic photo, which can be shown to Kent
to complete the "Photo Challenge" mission. Don't worry about that for now, you
still have a good amount of time to show him the photo. You should also have
received a transmission from Otis about "Lovers" in the Wonderland Plaza.
Disregard this for now, the cases are more important. If you have enough time
after obtaining the medicine for Brad, which you should, you can complete it
on the way back.

The medicine that Brad needs can be found in the pharmacy in Seon's Market
located in the North Plaza. This isn't too out of the way, you will have to
travel through Leisure Park, which will lead you directly to the North Plaza
if you have "Medicine Run" selected and you follow the arrow associated with
this quest. Time is of the essence here, so move as quickly as you can to this
location, just run by all of the zombies. I am not entirely sure if the psych-
opath Cletus is still in the Huntin' Shack on day 2 if you didn't defeat him
on the 19th, but if you did kill him, consider stopping by the store to grab
a couple of guns. When in the North Plaza, run past all of the zombies here
and make your way to Seon's Market. Before stepping in though, stop by the
Ripper's Blades store right by here. Smash the display case, grab a couple of
katanas, then proceed into the market.

When you enter Seon's, head to the back of the store and grab as many drinks
from the fridges as you can. To get the medicine, you will need to go through
the door at the back of the store, which will lead you behind the counter
where you can find the medicine for Brad. Did you really think you would be
able to get the medicine that easily? Oh, you'll have to fight a psychopath
before you can proceed. Keep in mind that even if you have the medicine, the
timer is still going. You need to kill this guy fast enough so that you still
have enough time to bring the medicine back to Brad in the security station.
There are the lovers stuck in the Wonderland Plaza, too. But I'll get to that
after the psychopath battle. For now, attempt to open the door leading to the
medicine to trigger the battle.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Steven Chapman -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

This guy has well earned the title of psychopath. Apparently you're not
allowed to shop in his store. That can't be good for business. That
can't be good for anybody. As soon as you gain control of Frank after
the short video sequence, you will find yourself in the path of Steven's
shopping cart of pointy objects. Quickly turn to your right or left and
press the A button to jump up and grab onto one of the shelves of food
to avoid the crazy manager. That's not all, he also has a gun. You'll
probably want to drop down on the opposite side of this shelf, to avoid
the blast. This psychopath battle, luckily, isn't very tough at all. For
one thing, you're surrounded by food. There are many aisles that you can
swerve into to block yourself off from Steven and his shopping cart. If
you are ever low on health, just run to the fridges in the back and grab
some drinks as you run by. Since Steven is rushing his shopping cart
around the store, you will want to use the shelves in the aisles to
travel around the store. Basically jump between them, and then jump off
the last section to propel yourself to a certain section of the store.

As for Steven's attacks, he has his shopping cart, which he uses to
chase after you in an attempt to run you down, or he will turn it
sharply when you are close to him to deal some heavy damage and throw
you back. If you are using a gun, your basic strategy here is to stand
behind the pillars near the shelves of food in the aisles to avoid his
fire, then when he stops, come out from cover and blast him a few times.
Guns also work rather well on the ground too, since there are many
shelves for you to hide behind while he has his gun out. If you are
using a melee weapon, you will have to be more cautious here. The
strategy here is to run around the store through the aisles to avoid the
shopping cart, then run out when he stops to take out his gun and hit
him with the weapon. The shotgun is not very accurate, so you can simply
jump from side to side to avoid the blast, then run up to him and attack
him. The katana or sledghammer works well here.

While using a melee weapon, you have to be careful of the cart, because
when you are close to him, he will slowly attempt to turn the cart, when
he does he will attempt to hit you with it, if this connects it does a
lot of damage. Luckily, you're surrounded by food, so health shouldn't
be a problem at all. Steven should go down really easily if you are
a strong melee weapon. When he is dead, be sure to take a picture of his
body if you are after the achievement associated with the psycopath's
pictures.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Steven Chapman -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

Now that Steven is out of the way, you need to get that medicine for Brad. Now
that you have the key, go through the door that you were unable to access due
to Steven's presence and run to the end of this area. Grab the medicine in the
middle of this area, run out of the pharmacy and leave Seon's Food & Stuff.
If you care for the Lovers scoop, you'll need to rescue those two right now
on your way back to the security room with the medicine. If you don't think
you have enough time to make it back, don't bother trying as the medicine is
much more important as it is associated with a case file. If you want to save
them, it is almost absolutely mandatory that you have defeated Adam so you
have access to the secret passage in the wonderland plaza located in the
ladies room. I don't think you can access this shortcut unless you have
defeated him.

Ok, so you're in the North Plaza now. The North Plaza is connected to the
Wonderland Plaza, look to your map if you need to find the entrance to that
area from here. Move through this plaza and enter into the Wonderland Plaza
area. From here, visit the book store where Tanya and Ross can be found. Take
to both of them. When Ross asks for a gun, DO NOT give it to him! He'll just
use it to kill himself and Tonya will refuse to follow you. When he asks for
the gun, just start talking to Tonya and eventually she should agree to go
with you, but you'll have to carry the injured man Ross. Assuming you have
defeated Adam the Clown, pick up Ross and make your way to the ladies room in
the plaza. Once there, take them through the shortcut to Paradise Plaza.
You'll have to give Tonya a weapon since there will be a lot of zombies in
your path. If you still have a katana from the Steven encounter, give that.

By the time you reach the Paradise Plaza, two women named Pamela Tompkins and
Heather Tompkins will be in the plaza. Saving Ross, Tonya, Pamela and Heather
makes things ridiculously tough. If you want to attempt this, when you first
get in the Paradise Plaza via the Wonderland shortcut, tell Ross and Tonya to
wait in the washroom. Heather will probably be in the middle of a pack of
zombies, the only chance you really have is probably a queen. Heather should
be inside the Child's Play store, while Pamela is outside surrounded by a pack
of zombies. Take them back to the security room and then head into the main
room to end the second case. If you manage to save both of them, lead them to
the washroom with the others. Take the stairs to the right of the ladies room
up and follow it around to pass a large group of zombies on the first level.
You'll have to put down Ross for a moment so you can clear the zombies on the
stairs. Take them back to the security room and then head into the main room
to end the second case.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Case 3 - [w03]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Case 3 is just a cutscene. Be in the security room at 11:00AM. You have until
3:00PM, when Case 4 begins. Consider completing some scoops between now and
then. Just remember you have to be there by 4:00PM, so don't stay too far away
from the security room when it's close to that time.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Case 4 - [w04]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==============================================================================
...Another Source.............................................................
==============================================================================
A short cutscene in the security room. The monitor shows Isabela, the woman
that you encountered in the market, on a motorcycle. You have some more time
to kill here until you need to pursue the next part of the case. You can
complete some scoop missions or try to earn some achievements before you go
on to the next part.

==============================================================================
...Girl Hunting...............................................................
==============================================================================
I'll give you a fair warning now, don't leave this mission for too long. Don't
let the bar turn dark red. This is because you need enough time to reach the
area with the psychopath and enough time to defeat her too, the time for the
mission continues ticking even while you are fighting. If you want, as soon as
you get this mission, go and finish it, then move on to the scoops that you
have available. This mission takes place in the North Plaza. Get to the North
Plaza by running through the Leisure Park area. Make sure that you have "Girl
Hunting" as your selected quest and follow the arrow through here to the
location of the battle.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Isabela-
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

Isabela refuses to listen to you. Instead she'll go on the offense. She
gets on her motorcycle and attempts to run you down. Luckily this is
a very easy battle if you can find a spot where she can't reach you. She
only has two attacks, she tries to hit you while she is on the motorcy-
cle and she also has a handgun. She will occasionally stop the driving,
then she will take out the handgun and start shooting at you. All you
need to kill her is a strong gun. The Huntin' Shack happens to be in
the North Plaza, so you can run down there and grab a couple of guns and
then return to the battleground. Isabela won't follow you all the way to
the gun store, so just try to avoid her while you are running there. A
shotgun works best, and a sniper is good too if you manage to get a
headshot on her each time. She's easy to avoid while you are running to
the Hunting Shack, just swerve from side to side as you are running
through the North Plaza.

All you really need to do is find something to jump on and then just
shoot Isabela with the shotgun as she drives by your location. She will
occasionally take out her handgun, but this doesn't do much damage.
A good place to get her stuck is in one of the under construction rooms
in the narrow hallway on the way to the Hunting Shack. Go into the first
door to your left. This room has a couple of boxes in the corner, just
jump up onto these boxes to avoid Isabela's motorcycle. You can heal up
here too if you are low on health, just wait until she isn't shooting at
you. Since this is a small space, it is easy to get shots on Isabela as
she drives by the boxes and crashes into the walls. Try to aim for her
head to deal the most damage. With a shotgun or a sniper rifle, Isabela
can be defeated rather easily.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Isabela-
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

After the battle, Isabela will finally talk to you. She tells you that she
can get you an interview with her brother Carlito if you return to the North
Plaza at 12:00AM on the 21st of September. If you have some spare time, this
is the time to earn the motorcycle stunt achievement. Isabela leaves her bike
behind after you defeat her, get on it and speed down the halls, hit one of
the wooden ramps and you should earn the achievement if you fly far enough.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Case 5 - [w05]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==============================================================================
...A Promise to Isabela.......................................................
==============================================================================
Head to the security room for a short cutscene concerning Dr. Barnaby. After
this, all you have to do is wait until it is 12:00AM and be at the room in
the North Plaza near the camera store within the hour. When Isabella shows
up, she is being attacked by a zombie. Quickly kill the zombie, then speak
with her.

==============================================================================
...Transporting Isabela.......................................................
==============================================================================
Isabela's psychotic brother shot her, so you will have to carry her to the
safety of the security room. There is a man named Kindell in this area, just
outside of the room you were supposed to meet Isabela in. He's got a shotgun,
so he will be very helpful if you want to make it back to the security room
with Isabela in one piece. Put down Isabela and speak to Kindell a few times.
Eventually the man will agree to join you. Now you must bring everybody back
to the security room to complete case 5.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Case 6 - [w06]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==============================================================================
...Santa Cabeza...............................................................
==============================================================================
When you receive a call on your transceiver from Otis, telling you that
Isabela has woken up and she wants to speak to you, return to the security
room. Watch the cutscene to finish case 6. You've got some time to kill until
the next case begins, try to complete some scoop missions while you wait.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Case 7 - [w07]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==============================================================================
...The Last Resort............................................................
==============================================================================
When you hear Carlito's announcement to Isabela over the intercom, you should
receive a call from Otis on the transceiver soon after. You need to report back
to the security room before the time runs out on this mission.

==============================================================================
...Bomb Collector.............................................................
==============================================================================
Get started on this mission as soon as you can. Carlito has apparently
prepared some bombs and he plans to blow up the mall. The bombs are being kept
in trucks located in the Maintenance Tunnel. There are five trucks in total,
each with its own time bomb. If you have completed the "Photo Challenge" Scoop
mission on the second day, you should meet Kent as soon as you step out of the
warehouse and into the Paradise Plaza. If you don't, wait for a little in the
Paradise Plaza until the cutscene begins. Kent has clearly lost it, he wants
to get a picture of a human's transformation into a zombie. You can't let that
happen, you will have to kill Kent. For more information on this mission,
check "A Photographer's Pride" under the "Scoops" section. This will slow down
your time a bit, but not by much. Be sure to bring plenty of healing items
before you move on. To get to the Maintenance Tunnel, make sure that you have
"Bomb Collector" selected as your active mission and head to the Leisure Park
area. Follow the arrow associated with this mission and it will eventually
lead you to the parking lot. Take the motorcycle from here and drive it down
through the entrance of the Maintenance Tunnel.

Ignore the arrow for now, head straight and take a left. Follow this tunnel
to the end, you will find a one of the trucks containing one of the time bombs
as well as a truck you can get into. Switch this truck for your motorcycle,
it is much more durable. Now you need to quickly follow the arrow and drive
your way through the Maintenance tunnel. When you reach one of the trucks
that contains a time bomb, quickly get out of the truck and approach the back
of the truck. Open the doors and take the time bomb. Of course, your truck
won't last forever and running down zombies will quickly wear it out. So as
tempting as it may be, avoid running over too many zombies, only run over the
zombies you absolutely have to. Things get much, much tougher however.
Carlito, of course, will not sit by and allow you to remove the bombs from the
trucks and spoil his plans. Carlito will appear in the tunnel driving a truck,
which he'll use to try and run you over.

If your vehicle breaks while you are in the middle of the tunnel, things will
become very tough and since you are in a rush you can't really afford that.
You will find yourself having a very hard time since Carlito is still chasing
you down. Press on though, continue following that arrow. If you see the
light from the truck's headlights in front of you, quickly swerve off to the
side, Carlito isn't the best driver so he will probably miss you and hit some
zombies or the wall instead. You will need a lot of health items if you are
going to make it by walking through the tunnel though. Take the time to heal
when you are in a clear patch and Carlito isn't driving straight for you.
When you are trying to take a bomb from the back of the trucks, Carlito will
throw grenades at you in an attempt to stop you. You must move quickly because
these will deal some heavy damage and throw you back. When you have all of the
bombs, drive or run back to the passage that you used to enter the Maintenance
Tunnel.

You will witness a cutscene at this point. If you want to get the "Snuff Shot
B" achievement, you will have to go back into the Maintenance Tunnel and find
Brad. Take a picture of him as a zombie and you will unlock that achievement.
To get to Brad, take a right as soon as you enter the tunnel. Turn left as
soon as you can, follow here and take a right. You will witness a short
cutscene involving zombie Brad. When the cutscene is over, take a picture of
Brad. You can enter the room at the end of this area and retrieve the Mainte-
nance Tunnel key if you wish.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Case 8 - [w08]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==============================================================================
...Jamming Device.............................................................
==============================================================================
Just a cutscene. Get to the security room before the time runs out on this
mission to view the cutscene and move on to the next part of this case.

==============================================================================
...Hideout....................................................................
==============================================================================
Apparently, Carlito has a hideout in the North Plaza. He has a computer in
his hideout, Isabela believes that the group may be able to learn if Carlito
has any future plans by logging in to it. When you are ready, go through the
duct. Speak to Isabela and she will start leading you. She insists on taking
the elevator down to the warehouse, so be ready for the pack of zombies that's
inside. Isabela will lead the way, all you need to do is follow her and kill
the zombies around her. She will lead you through the Leisure Park area and
into the North Plaza. Follow her through here and eventually she will lead you
to an empty store. Carlito's hideout is above the boxes in this area. When in
his hideout, run towards Isabela to trigger a cutscene.

==============================================================================
...Jessie's Discovery.........................................................
==============================================================================
All you need to do is get to the Security Room to view a short cutscene. You
can save your game in Carlito's hideout by using the rug on the floor in the
area with the laptop. Leave Isabela there and get to the Security Room before
the time runs out. An image on the monitor depicts Carlito being dragged into
the meat processing room in the Maintenance Tunnels. Get down there and check
it out!

==============================================================================
...The Butcher................................................................
==============================================================================
You need to get down to the meat processing room in the Maintenance Tunnel
post-haste! Be sure to take the sledghammer on top of the shelf in the
warehouse on your way out. You will need some healing items, so stop by the
Colombian Roastmasters and grab some orange juice. Taking the katana from
the awning below the window to the right of the fridge wouldn't hurt. Jump
down and enter the Leisure Park area. Traverse the park and get to the
parking lot near the Maintenance Tunnel. Grab the car her and drive into
the tunnel. As soon as you are in the tunnel, turn to your left and follow
this route all the way until you reach the large open area with the door
leading to the meat processing room. Get out of the car and enter.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Larry Chiang -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

Larry the butcher has Carlito, and you need information from Carlito.
Larry's isn't going to give up Carlito, so either way one of you is
going to have to get killed. Luckily, Larry isn't too much of a nuisance
if you are well prepared. I hope you brought that sledgehammer with you,
because it will aid you greatly in this battle. As with the True Eye
cult leader Sean, for some reason most of Larry's attacks will complete-
ly miss you while you are using the sledgehammer's primary attack to
damage him. Larry is more versatile than the cult leader, however. You
can still use the sledgehammer to essentially negate Larry's primary
attack. Larry cannot hit you with his knives if you stand directly in
front of him and tap the X button while you have the sledgehammer, but
he's not just going to stand there and take it either. Larry can pick
you up while you are attacking him and place you on a meat hook. While
you're up here, you're essentially helpless while Larry gets a few free
cheap shots on you, quickly rotate the left analog stick to break free.

Most of Larry's attacks are easy to avoid. Sometimes he will take a
giant piece of meat from one of the hooks in the area and either hit
you over the head with it or throw it at you. This attack is very easy
avoid but if it hits you, ouch. If you need to heal, you can run towards
one of the counters around the area and jump up onto it. Here, you can
drink to restore some health without being attacked by the butcher.
Larry may also throw knives at you if you are far away. The shotgun is
a great gun to use against Larry, but you should be able to finish him
quickly with just a sledgehammer. His attacks do deal a lot of damage,
but just try your best to avoid them and you shouldn't have a problem
with this fight. When Larry dies, you can pick up his meat cleaver,
which is quite the powerful melee weapon.

When you receive a call on the transceiver from Isabela, quickly return to

All cases closed! But...

But what? Scroll down to find out!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- The Final Hours - [w10]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stuck in a mall infested with zombies, with hours to spend waiting for your
helicopter ride out of there. What do you do? Well, there isn't much you can
do during your first few hours of free time. Try to earn some achievements
perhaps? While you move through the mall, you will trigger more cutscenes.
Since the jammer Carlito was using to prevent anyone from calling for help is
down, Jessie can call for help. You will learn that help's not coming, quite
the opposite actually. The Special Forces will show up at 12:00AM, and there's
a lot of them. Take a picture of Jessie as a zombie to earn to "Snuff Shot J"
achievement.

By 12:00AM, the mall will be crawling with special forces soldiers. If you
want to get the "Legendary Soldier" achievement, you'll have to take out ten
of these guys. The soldiers are all carrying machine guns, which makes them
formidable opponents. You're probably not used to having more than one person
shooting a gun at you. In some places, such as the North Plaza, you can get
yourself trapped between the soldier's gunfire and unable to move until they
kill you. For this reason, don't try to go up against more than two soldiers
at one time. The absolute best weapon to use to quickly kill the soldiers is
the katana. With a few slices, the soldier should go down. For each soldier
you kill, you will receive a large PP bonus. So if you are bored, run around
the mall killing the soldiers that you encounter.

If you need food, there are usually few soldiers around the Colombian Roastma-
sters restaurant in the Paradise Plaza. Don't try Seon's Food & Stuff in the
North Plaza, it's packed with special forces soldiers. I do suggest stopping
by the sword store right next to Seon's though, to stock up on katanas. The
machine guns that the soldiers drop when you kill them is also good to use
against them. Since you've got time to spare, you can take one of these guns
with full ammo down to the meat processing room in the Maintenance Tunnel.
Unload one entire, full machine gun on one of the pieces of hanging meat to
earn the "Perfect Gunner" achievement. The convicts in Leisure Park have been
replaced by a special forces helicopter. If you manage to shoot this helico-
pter down, you will earn the "Hella Copter" achievement. Use a special forces
soldier's machine gun to shoot the helicopter down. Just continuously aim
and shoot the helicopter when it flies over you. Be careful though, as the
helicopter has some heavy weaponry strapped to it.

If you've done everything that you want to do, make your way to Carlito's
Hideout. You must do this if you want to unlock Overtime mode. If you beat
overtime mode, you will unlock the true ending. Speak to Isabela after the
cutscene at 10:00AM. Be at the heliport by 12:00PM. Sit through the credits!
All hope is lost? Not quite. Read on.

- Overtime Mode - [w11]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It turns out that Frank was bitten by a zombie! How unlikely! How could he
have possibly been bitten? I mean, it's not like he was exposed to a large
number of zombies or anything. Anyway, if Frank's going to live to see another
day, you must collect some items from around the mall. With these items, Isab-
ela will be able to make something for Frank to take to give him some more
time as a human. You're on a 24 hour timer here, but you should have plenty
of time to get everything needed to save Frank. You must scour the mall for
a First Aid Kit, Blender, Coffee Filters, Magnifying Glass, Camp Stove,
Developing Solution, a Perfume Bottle and Cold Spray.

The mall is still full of soldiers, apparently cleaning up whatever was left
behind. You'll want to get your hands on some katanas to deal with them. There
are also small sentry drones that fly around the mall. If they spot you, a car
alarm-esque siren will sound and all the special forces soldiers in the area
will be alerted to your presence. You can use basically any gun to kill these
drones, or just hit them with a melee weapon. The special forces's machine
guns work quite well. You can stop by the Huntin' Shack as well as the
Ripper's Blades near Seon's to stock up on some guns and swords.

==============================================================================
...In Need of Supplies........................................................
==============================================================================
Since simply going down the list of items on the mission menu in order is both
tedious and a waste of time, just go after the items in the order that I cover
them. You're in the North Plaza now, you can obtain the First Aid Kit in the
Seon's Food & Stuff store here. Unfortunately for you, the population of
special forces soldiers in Seon's is heavy. What to do? Run. Simply run past
the soldiers, swerving from side to side in a seemingly futile attempt to
avoid their gunfire and go through the door leading to the pharmacy. Grab the
First Aid Kit here, it is denoted by the blue icon. Now quickly get yourself
out of the store as fast as you can, grab some wine if needed from the King of
Wine section on your way out. Next stop, the Wonderland Plaza. Once you are
out of Seon's, leave the North Plaza by the exit leading to the Wonderland
Plaza just across from Seon's.

The Wonder Jewels on the first floor of the Wonderland Plaza contains the
Magnifying Glass that you need. Wonderland Plaza appears to be sparsely
populated with soldiers, so you shouldn't have much difficulty getting to the
store and taking the Magnifying Glass on the counter with the cash register.
Once you have that, run through the Wonderland Plaza and enter the Food Court.
Here, you will encounter a few soldiers in the main area of the food court.
You can find the Blender behind the counter of the Ice Cream stand. Take some
wine from Chris' Fine Foods if you are low on health and need healing items.
Travel through the Leisure Park area and enter the Paradise Plaza. There are
quite a few soldiers here, if you are low on health you can stop by the
Colombian Roastmasters restaurant and grab some orange juice, as well as the
katana on the awning. Be careful though, there are likely many soldiers near
the restaurant.

You can find the Cold Spray in the SporTrance store on the second level of the
Paradise Plaza. The developing solution can be found in Cam's Camera, right
next to the warehouse door. The warehouse is swarming with soldiers, so ignore
it and proceed into the Entrance Plaza. You can obtain the Perfume Bottle in
Estelle's Fine-lady Cosmetics on the second floor of the Entrance Plaza. The
Camp Stove can be found in the Sports High store on the first level. The
Coffee Filters can be found in the security room. The door marked "Staff Only"
that was previously shut can now be opened! You really don't want to go
through the Warehouse, so enter the security room from the Entrance Plaza
instead. Now that you have everything that Isabela needs, return to Carlito's
Hideout in the North Plaza and hand them over to her.

It's not over yet. Isabela needs queens to make the formula. You will need to
bring ten of these queens to Isabela. You should have plenty of time left to
get these ten queens, but it will still take awhile nonetheless. If you see a
zombie standing in one spot with its hands flailing up in the air and its head
tilted upwards, apparently this isn't normal zombie behavior. Kill zombies
that fit this description and a queen will appear from them. The North Plaza
and the Wonderland Plaza now have a healthy population of zombies. Basically,
what you should do is run between these areas and kill any zombies you see
who have the queens in them. When one area seems to be empty, move into the
other, clear that area, then move back to the previous.

Repeat this until you have given Isabela the ten queens that she needs. You
will, of course, have to stop off at Carlito's Hideout and drop off the queens
you have in your inventory to free up some inventory space. Be very careful
that you do not accidentally use a queen, if you are using a weapon and it
breaks/runs out of ammo, Frank will auto-switch to the next item in your
inventory. Don't let this make you accidentally use a queen! Keep an eye on
your weapons ammo or it's durability.

==============================================================================
...Into The Tunnel............................................................
==============================================================================
Once you have obtained ten queens and have given each of them to Isabela, she
will inject Frank with a shot of the formula she created. Frank and Isabela
form a plan to escape the mall by using the tunnel in the clock tower and the
anti-zombie perfume Isabela was able to create using the queens. When you gain
control of Frank after the cutscene, save the game where you are standing. Take
Isabella by the hand and lead her through the horde of zombies. The zombies
will only be repelled by the perfume if they step within its aura. When they
do, they will be knocked back. A large iron gate is blocking your progression,
stand by the gate with Isabela and lift it up for her to crawl through. You
will have to stand your ground here and fight off the horde of zombies until
Isabela activates a switch to open the gate so you can follow her through.

Take Isabela by the hand again and lead her through the sea of undead. When
you reach the gate, open the door to proceed into the next area. Lead Isabela
past the zombies and you will encounter yet another gate. Hold up the grate
for Isabela, fight off the zombies and then step past the gate. The light at
the end of the tunnel! Slightly obscured by the grotesqueness of the undead
horde blocking your path... When you regain control over Frank after the short
cutscene, save the game where you stand, then carry Isabela on your back
through the zombies, take a left and head up the stairs here. Put Isabela down
and flip the lever here to open the gate and unleash the zombies. Pick Isabela
up again and bring her outside. Walk up next to the jeep with the mounted
turret, put Isabela down and enter the vehicle.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
+--- XM3 Prototype Tank ---+
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

You knew you weren't going to be able to escape the mall that easily,
right? Just when Frank and Isabela appeared to be home free, the special
forces reveal the final barrier. A giant, deadly looking tank. You're
on a jeep with a mounted turret and you're facing off against a tank...
Luckily this isn't going to be nearly as hard as it sounds. This is an
on rails boss battle, so the only thing you have to worry about doing
is aiming and shooting the mounted turret. The tank has a lengthy life
bar, you'll need to deplete this to halt the tank's movement. The tank's
body is heavily armored, but you can still damage the tank if you shoot
the right parts of it.

The only two things you need to concentrate your gunfire on to damage
the tank are the two boxes on the front sides of the tank. These each
have a pair of flashing green lights, so they're easy to spot. The tank
will attack you while it is pursuing you. When you see the little sentry
unit appear on top of the tank, concentrate your fire on this. A green
target seeking laser will appear from the unit, attempting to find a
target for the tank's cannon to lock onto. If you destroy the sentry
unit before the laser locks on the jeep and turns red, the tank won't be
able to fire. The sentry unit will reappear though, so make sure that
you are always keeping an eye out for it so you can destroy it before
the tank is able to lock on and shoot the jeep. For each shot that hits
the tank, you will loose one block of health. At this point, you should
have plenty of health, more than enough to survive this encounter.

The XM3 will also employ sentry drones, which will fly towards you. Aim
and destroy these before they get too close. The tank can also launch
four homing missiles. These don't deal a whole lot of damage by themse-
lves, so try to take out as many of them as you can before they reach
the jeep. Continue firing at the tank's weak points, when one is destro-
yed, shift your fire to the other. Do this until the tank's health bar
is completely depleted and it comes to a stop.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
+---- Brock ----+
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

This fight can be quite tough. You have nothing in your inventory for it.
You can only use your skills to attack and damage Brock. Luckily you're
health has been completely restored from you're skirmish with the XM3
tank. Brock will block most of your attacks with his fists, and his
own melee attacks are quite powerful too. The trick here is to just keep
on moving! Don't stand in one spot for too long trying to punch or kick
Brock. Move between the tank's cannon and the tank's body. When Brock
jumps down, try to catch him off guard with a flying kick while he has
his back turned when he's trying to get back up the cannon. You'll
essentially just be running in circles around him, jumping up into the
air and kicking him.

You can also try the double lariat attack. To do this, hold down on the
left thumbstick and tap the X button. Try your best not to fall off of
the tank. As you can see, a hungry mass of zombies has accumulated below.
If you do get knocked down, jump around and quickly climb back up onto
the tank's body. Jumping into the air and pressing the X button, then
pressing it again once you hit the ground to perform another kick seems
to work quite well against Brock. Just do this once, then jump down to
the tank's body, hit Brock again when he follows you, then climb back up
onto the cannon. If you let Brock perform some of his attacks on you,
they will deal a large amount of damage, so keep moving. Rotate the left
thumbstick if Brock gets you in a chokehold.

An additional strategy by Berserker 2: "Stay at the far end of the lower
right platform (the larger platform) and wait for Brock to come down to
you. Just as he steps off the high platform, run towards him and Jump
Kick him. Brock won't defend himself since he thinks you are climbing
up. Brock will climb back up. Just step back and wait for him to come
back down. About 10 kicks should do it. If you fall down to the ground,
use the Flying Dodge to escape the zombie nest. Since you have all day,
spend the time to clear a path. Use Hammer Throw or find a Queen Bee."

Continue attacking Brock until he eventually falls.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
+--- It's Finally Over... ---+
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

That's it, you've just completed Dead Rising and earned the true ending!
Congratulations on a job well done!

...Cut From The Same Cloth.............................................(m01)..
==============================================================================
This is probably the first scoop that you will receive. You should receive the
call from Otis about a man taking pictures in the paradise plaza around 2:00PM.
Select "Cut From The Same Cloth" from the list of missions, this way there
will be an arrow pointing towards Kent, the man taking the pictures. Enter the
paradise plaza and locate him. He can most likely be found in the Colombian
Roastmasters restaurant on the second floor of this plaza. When you have loca-
ted him, speak to him a few times. Kent will offer to give you a few pointers
on taking pictures. You will need to take a few pictures of Kent and earn a
certain amount of points for those pictures in order for him to leave you
alone. The first picture you need to earn at least 700 points on.

To get the first picture, stand close to Kent and make sure that you zoom in
on him. When he crouches down to take a picture of you, take a picture of him.
If you were close enough and he is in the center of the shot, you should be
able to achieve the required amount of points to move on. The next shot you
need to take is Kent in action. To get this one, wait until Kent jumps up into
the air to kick a zombie. You will know when it is the shot that you need to
get once the PP icon appears above his head. Just get him in the picture while
doing this to move on to the next picture. If you want to get a lot of points
though, make sure that he isn't too far away when you take the picture while
he is doing the kick move. For the last picture, all you need to do is get
a good picture of Kent performing his "signature pose." It should be easy to
figure out what his pose is. Take the shot while he is doing his pose, make
sure that he is not too far away and that you are zoomed in to get the most
points.

==============================================================================
...Photo Challenge.....................................................(m02)..
==============================================================================
Once you have completed the "Cut From the Same Cloth" mission, Kent will give
you a small challenge. He wants you to snap a very good erotic photo. There
is one point in the game that I know of where you can snap an adequate shot,
but it is during September 20th. The Photo Challenge mission will be up for
an indefinite amount of time, so you have plenty of time to get that photo.
Just make sure that you don't talk to Kent in the mean time, you'll be forced
to show him an erotic photo if you do and if you don't have that photo, he'll
laugh and walk away.

To get an adequate erotic photo, the best time to do this is during Case 2,
while on Case 2-3:

While Jessie is sitting down on the bed next to Brad, back up from her and
take out your camera. Zoom in and focus on her crotch, but make sure her
breasts are still in the shot. You should get 700-1,000 points for this erotic
photo, which can be shown to Kent to complete the "Photo Challenge" mission.
Make sure that you speak to him in the Paradise Plaza before the time runs out
for the mission on the 2nd day. When you show him the photo, he demands
another contest. He tells you to meet him in the Paradise Plaza tomorrow at
noon for another challenge.

==============================================================================
...Barricade Pair A and B..............................................(m03)..
==============================================================================
You should receive a call about this scoop on the transceiver at around
4:00PM. You will need to travel to the Al Fresca Plaza to rescue a couple of
survivors who have barricaded themselves in the Weber's Garments clothing
store here. Make sure that you bring some orange juice from the Colombian
Roastmasters as well as that katana. You will be facing tons of zombies during
your quest to save these two, so you will need food to heal both yourself
and the two men. In the Food Court, if you didn't grab some orange juice from
the Columbian Roastmasters, grab some wine from the counter on the area to
your left just as you enter. If you wish, you can save your game by stepping
into the Flexin gym to your right as soon as you enter the Al Fresca Plaza.

In Al Fresca Plaza, the store that the two young men have barricaded themselves
into, Weber's Garments, is the second store to the left. Tear down their
shoddy barricade and step inside. Burt, the guy with the bat, while start to
attack you. Don't try to kill him, just rough him up a bit. Don't use a weapon
on him, just press up on the d-pad to put away your current item, then start
tapping the X button to punch him. After punching him a bit, when he gives up,
talk to him a few times. Burt and Aaron will both follow you at this point. I
suggest waiting in the Al Fresca Plaza until 5:00PM. At this point, you will
receive another call on the transceiver about a women who is also in the Al
Fresca Plaza. Wait until it is 5:00PM, tell Aaron and Burt to stay in the
clothing store (hold RT and press the Y button on the floor in the area) and
step back into the Food Court. You should receive the call from Otis. That is
the "A Mother's Lament" mission, so start reading below to read about saving
both the woman in that quest and the two men you have with you now.

==============================================================================
...A Mother's Lament...................................................(m04)..
==============================================================================
You should be doing this mission while saving Aaron and Burt. Step back into
the Al Fresca Plaza when you receive the call about the woman in the jewelry
store. You can grab some sledgehammers from the hardware store to your right
as soon as you step back into the Al Fresca Plaza from the Food Court. You can
hand these weapons over to Burt and Aaron by standing near them with the
weapon out and pressing the B button when the "Give" prompt appears. Clear out
the zombies in front of the door leading to the Food Court and tell Aaron and
Burt to stay by the door. They should be ok here, if you have given them some
weapons and cleared out the zombies for them. With "Mother's Lament" as your
active mission, follow the area through Al Fresca Plaza and follow it to the
jewelry store. Inside you will find Leah.

peak to her a few times and eventually she will agree to follow you. Jump over
the display case and wait for her to jump over. When she does, approach her
and press the B button near her to take her on your back. If for some reason
she refuses to jump over the case, you will have to press the Y button to call
her over to you, unfortunately this will bring Adam and Burt over to. Run and
quickly clear the path for them with a sledgehammer or bat, then run over and
carry Leah. Swerve between the zombies and take Leah back towards the door
where Aaron and Burt are waiting (or not). When you reach the door, press the
Y button so Aaron and Burt are following you again, then step through the door
and back into the Food Court. You can grab some wine from the counter here if
you or any of the survivors need a health boost. Stepping out into Leisure
Park is where things can suddenly become very difficult.

You will undoubtedly encounter the three psychopath convicts in their jeep.
This makes things very difficult, since the only path you can take back to the
security room is through this park. Sophie is being attacked by these
convicts. If you want to save her, this is going to be tough. If you can get
your hands on some type of gun such as a handgun, which are commonly dropped
by the zombie type cops, you can take out the psychopaths with a lot of
effort. At this point in the game you don't have too many options, it's either
try to kill the convicts or leave Sophie. Assuming you have a handgun, you'll
want to clear out a small area of Zombies, tell Aaron, Burt and Leah to wait
there and then pursue the convicts. Killing these guys with a handgun is no
easy task, so make sure you have plenty of wine in your inventory. Basically
what you want to do here is get the jeep stuck against a tree.

Find one of the wider trees and run around it until they crash into it. Take
cover behind the tree, then quickly pop out to get a few headshots on the
gunner. His gun is very powerful, so be careful. If you are low on health,
use the tree as a shield against the bullets while you down some wine. Of
course, the zombies here don't make things any easier, you'll have to fight
them off with a melee weapon while you are trying to kill the psychopaths.
When the gunner goes down, run around to the back of the jeep and grab the
mounted machine gun. With the machine gun in hand, run around the sides of
the jeep and shoot the convicts in the two seats. When they are dead, get to
Sophie and let her into the group. Return to the other survivors with Sophie
in the group. Cross the Leisure park back into the Paradise Plaza. I was able
to avoid the convicts, try your best to stay clear of their jeep when you go
to retrieve Sophie.

Take her by the hand, lead her back to the waiting group, Pick up Leah and
start moving towards the door leading to the Paradise Plaza. Hug the wall
while you are doing this, in an attempt to avoid the convicts. Remember to
slow down occasionally, as the others may need to catch up. If need be, put
down Leah and bash some zombies to clear the path. If the convicts do notice
you, well use the strategy above. Once in the Paradise Plaza, You can take the
steps to the left to pass a mob of zombies. Stop by the Colombian Roastmasters
to for some orange juice if you or your survivors are low on health. Go
through he warehouse, up the elevator and onto the rooftop. Here, Hold RT and
press the Y button while focused near the duct. When everyone is up, climb up
yourself and enter the duct to bring the survivors into the security room.
Hope that worked out for you...

==============================================================================
...Out Of Control......................................................(m05)..
==============================================================================
You should receive a transmission about the out of control ride in the Wonder-
land Plaza sometime around 9:00PM. You'll want to wait until it is 10:00PM and
you receive the call about the Japanese tourists before you step into the
Wonderland Plaza though, since it is much easier and less time consuming if
you do both of these missions at once. If you are in the Paradise Plaza, make
sure that you grab the katana on the awning below Colombian Roastmasters and
some orange juice if you are low on health supplies. Go through Leisure Park,
through the food court (grab some wine if you need some), turn right and
follow this path into the Wonderland Plaza.

When you arrive, you will receive another transmission from Otis about the out
of control ride. You may want to save your game at this point, so you won't
have to walk all the way back here if you don't make it through this alive.
Before continuing, get the Japanese tourists in the book store. Scroll down to
the mission below this one for more information. With them in your party, give
them some handguns and tell them to wait in the book store. The out of control
ride is in the middle of the plaza, approach the ride and climb up the metal
steps. Wait until just after a car has gone over the track, then jump over to
the other side. Inspect the controls to your right...

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Adam the Clown -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

If you're afraid of clowns, you'll hate this guy. I think he has reac-
hed a whole new plane above psychopath. Unfortunately, yelling "GET A
GRIP MAN!" here won't do anything. You're going to have to fight this
insane clown, it's either you or him. Adam the Clown is rather tough and
if you are at a low level, you will probably have a very difficult time
fighting him at this point. Guns don't work very well against Adam at
all, so hopefully you have some melee weapons with you. If you picked
up that katana I mentioned earlier, that will help. While you are fight-
ing him, if you have the Japanese tourists in your group and they are
waiting, they'll come to you. You can either tell them to wait somewhere
on the walkway or let them help you fight Adam. If you gave them guns,
thry can help you shave off some of Adam's health. He seems very fixated
on you, he doesn't seem to go after them. Ever.

Adam has several different attacks that he uses. His two chainsaws are
very damaging, so try your best to avoid any contact with them. What you
want to try and do is get a few melee attacks in, then quickly run away
to avoid his retaliation. Try to get used to the moves he uses, so you
can easily avoid them. Adam has several attacks, he uses his chainsaws
to heavily damage you, he breathes fire also, so try not to stand dire-
ctly in front of him as he can get this attack off very fast. The ideal
time to get a few strikes in on Adam is after he is done his spinning
chainsaw attack. When he does this, he will spin around over a large
distance. Simply run away from him while he is doing this to avoid the
attack, then quickly move in to get a few hits in. He can also be shot
at with a gun at this point. He also has a balloon attack, just shoot
the balloon with a gun while he is blowing it up or while it is near him
to pop it and stagger him for a few moments.

When Adam has been knocked down, get away from him as he always retalia-
tes by blowing out fire. It is not wise to stay on the space rider plat-
form where you first run into Adam the Clown, since his attacks can
throw you up into the air and onto the tracks, where you may be hit by
one of the cars. If you are low on health, simply run away and when you
are at a safe distance, just drink/eat something and then get moving
again. If you are attacking Adam with a melee weapon, he may use his
chainsaws to destroy it. Be careful of this and try not to attack him
while he has the chainsaws crossed. After Adam's disturbing death seque-
nce, be sure to snap a picture of the dead clown, if you are after the
achievements associated with the psychopath's pictures.

Psychopath!! - Adam the Clown -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

Once Adam is dead, grab his chainsaw and examine the machine once again to
shut it down. You will find a man named Greg. Greg knows of a secret passage
out of the Wonderland Plaza. Thank God! You won't have to lead the group
through the Leisure Park with those convicts! Call the Japanese tourists and
follow Greg to the secret passage. Greg will lead you to the washroom, where
you will be able to take a vent to the bathroom in the Paradise Plaza. Keep
this shortcut in mind when near the Wonderland Plaza in the future. Lead the
survivors back to the security room safely to save them.

==============================================================================
...Japanese Tourists...................................................(m06)..
==============================================================================
This mission is best completed in conjunction with the "Out of Control"
mission. Basically, wait outside of the Wonderland Plaza until you receive the
call from Otis about the Japanese tourists in the book store. Before fighting
Adam the Clown, travel to the "Sir Book-a-lot" store where the survivors are.
They are Japanese, so they won't be able to understand what you are saying
unless you pick up the "Japanese Conversation" book near one of the book cases
in this area. With this book in your inventory, speak to the tourists to start
a conversation. You will need to speak to them a few times. Get your camera
ready, because when the two of them agree to go with you, the PP icon will
appear above their heads. Make sure that they are in the middle of the shot
and that you are close enough to them to get full points.

When they are in your group, tell them to wait in the book store (hold RT and
press the Y button on the floor somewhere in the store). Make sure to give
them handguns so they can defend themselves if a zombie approaches. You should
have encountered several cop zombies outside of the store, kill them, take the
guns and give one to each of the tourists. Once you have done all that, climb
up the metal steps to the space rider to face Adam the Clown. While fighting
Adam, you can tell them to wait somewhere on the walkway where there aren't
many zombies if you fear for their survival.

==============================================================================
...Shadow of the North Plaza...........................................(m07)..
==============================================================================
You should receive a call from Otis on the transceiver about this mission at
around 11:00PM. A man has been spotted in the North Plaza, running about as if
he were being chased. While you are in the North Plaza, you may as well get a
side quest out of the way. If you visit the Hunting Shack located in the North
Plaza, you'll encounter a psychopath named Cletus. Before saving the man
associated with the "Shadow of the North Plaza" mission, set your sights on
taking out Cletus first. Cletus is quite hard to defeat, tons of drinks to
restore health as well as an emergency melee weapon such as the katana. Melee
weapons aren't particularly effective against this psychopath, so lean more
towards the guns. For more information on Cletus, view "Cletus" under the
"Other Occurrences" portion of the Scoops section.

To get to the North Plaza, enter the Leisure Park area. Have "Shadow of the
North Plaza" selected and follow the arrow across the field to the entrance
that leads to the North Plaza. You don't need to kill Cletus, this is optional
but if you want access to some powerful weapons, then you will need to do
that. Whatever you choose to do, once you are back on the "Shadow of the North
Plaza" mission, follow the arrow to David, the wounded man. David Balley
explains that he has a wounded leg, he was attacked by a psychopath in the
market. For this reason, you will have to support David or he cannot move.

If you have completed the "Out of Control" mission and defeated the clown,
you can use the secret passage in the Wonderland Plaza's ladies washroom. If
not, you'll have to take David across the Leisure Park, trying your best to
avoid the convicts in the jeep. You can move pretty fast while supporting
David, so you shouldn't have any trouble swerving between the zombies in your
path. Take David all the way to the security room to save him and finish the
mission. You'll have to put him down, let him climb up the ledge to the duct
area, then enter the duct to the security room.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==============================================================================
...Lovers..............................................................(m08)..
==============================================================================
This mission can really conflict with the second case if you take too much
time to defeat Carlito. If you are trying to complete all of the scoop
missions, a good time to do this is right after the Medicine Run mission. This
is very tough to do. This is even harder if you want to save Heather and
Pamela Tompkins. I myself managed to save the four people here with only
sliver of time left in the Medicine Run mission. This portion is written
assuming that you are attempting this after you have defeated Steven.

Move through this plaza and enter into the Wonderland Plaza
area. From here, visit the shoe store where Tanya and Ross can be found. Talk
to both of them.

Pamela will probably be in the middle of a pack of
zombies, the only chance you really have is probably a queen.

==============================================================================
...The Hatchet Man.....................................................(m09)..
==============================================================================
You should get a call from Otis on the transceiver about a strange man in the
hardware store with a machete around 8:00AM. You will probably receive this
call as you are trying to get the medicine for Brad. Ignore it at this point,
you'll want to leave it until you're on case 4. Once you have advanced to the
fourth case, you have a few hours to kill until the next case begins. At this
point, you should still have enough time to finish The Hatchet Man mission,
as well as The Restaurant Man mission if you do them at the same time. The
Hatchet Man takes place in the hardware store, located in the North Plaza. To
get to the North Plaza, you will need to travel through Leisure Park. Make
sure that you have "The Hatchet Man" selected from the missions, so that while
you are in Leisure Park, the arrow points you towards the North Plaza.

Make sure that you bring plenty of drinks because you will surely need to heal
yourself during this mission. Make sure to grab the katana from the awning
below Colombian Roastmasters, it will come in handy. The hardware store that
you're looking for is Crilips Home Saloon. It will be right near the area
where you entered the North Plaza from Leisure Park. Step into the hardware
store, where Frank makes a grisly discovery. Here, you will encounter Cliff...

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Cliff Hudson -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

Ugh, I wouldn't want to be in a room alone with this guy. As the cut-
scene before this psychopath battle implies, Cliff is really hard to
keep track of. His secret is he uses trap doors around the store to
travel under the floor, where he can simply pop out from another one of
those trap doors. If you see him jump into one of these tunnels, run to
the middle of the store and spin the camera around, try to see if you
can spot him somewhere. Cliff frequently jumps on the shelves in the
store, up there he will usually throw down fire crackers that stun you.
When one lands near you, quickly move out of the way because these deal
some damage. Cliff's machete is very strong and can knock off a couple
of your health squares with one hit. Cliff, unfortunately, is also very
fast. It is hard to outrun him, but do so, attempt to swerve between the
aisles. If you need to drink to restore your health, you can find some
boxes to jump up onto that allows you to climb up onto the shelves.
Drink up here, since you are relatively safe from Cliff.

Melee items are the weapon of choice here. You should be able to kill
Cliff fairly quickly with a katana. If you bring a gun, make it either
a shotgun or SMG, anything else is inadequate. You should just stay in
the middle of the store and wait for Cliff to come to you. When he
does, it's all about avoiding his attacks while you try to slash him
with your sword. Try to circle around him to avoid his attacks. If he
gets behind you, he'll pick you up and stick the machete in your back.
A sniper rifle is effective if Cliff is on one of the shelves, just
him and then move away from the bomb. If you shoot him while he is on
one of the shelves, he will jump down. Use this method to get him to
come down so you can use your katana. If you don't have a katana, you
can find a lot of sledgehammers in the store. Using the primary attack
seems to deal a decent amount of damage. A katana kills much faster
though. When Cliff goes down, listen to his sad story, then take a
picture of his body. Turns out he wasn't such a bad guy after all...
Well, when he wasn't trying to cut your head off with a machete anyway.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Cliff Hudson -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

Once you have defeated Cliff, you will receive the key to the empty store
outside of Crislip's. Grab the machete and leave Crislip's, open the empty
store just outside with the key. Inside you will find three people. You will
probably want to grab the survival book on the floor here, this increases food
items effectiveness by 100%. If you want to attempt it, you can take these
survivors across the Leisure Park, just be careful of the convicts. It is much
faster this way than taking the Wonderland Plaza shortcut. You can use the
machete from Cliff to clear the way. Hug the wall while you are attempting to
make it back to the Paradise Plaza. If the Restaurant Man is one of your
missions, consider picking up the man in Jill's Sandwiches. You will need to
give him any type of food item for him to follow you. If you don't have
anything on you at the moment, you can take something from the Colombian
Roastmasters restaurant on the second floor. When you are ready, lead everyone
back to the security room.

If you happen to encounter the True Eye cult in the Paradise Plaza, be sure
to save the woman who has been captured by them. You will have to kill all of
the cultists around the plaza. They are quite tough, but if you have a sledge-
hammer simply move around, tap and hold the X button. This should clear all
of them out rather easily. If you don't have anything to use, use the double
lariat attack by pressing up on the d-pad, then pushing down on the left
control stick and tapping the X button.

==============================================================================
...The Coward..........................................................(m10)..
==============================================================================
The Coward mission takes place in the Al Fresca Plaza. You should receive a
call about the man in the hardware store there around 9:00AM. You can find
the man behind the desk of the hardware store. Jump over the desk and talk
to him. At first, he will refuse to go with you. Press up on the d-pad to put
away your object and punch him a few times. Eventually he will agree to go
with you.

==============================================================================
...Restaurant Man......................................................(m11)..
==============================================================================
You should receive a call on the transceiver around 11:00AM about a man in a
restaurant in the Paradise Plaza. This man is in the Jill's Sandwiches restau-
rant. Since Ronald is close to the security room, just pick him up the next
time you are in the Paradise Plaza and are going back to the security room.

==============================================================================
...Above The Law.......................................................(m12)..
==============================================================================
You should receive a call from Otis on the transceiver about a cop going into
a woman's clothing store in the Wonderland Plaza at around 3:00PM. Make sure
that you grab the katana from the awning below the Colombian Roastmasters
restaurant on the second floor of the Paradise Plaza. Grab some orange
juice from the fridge while you're at it. To get to the Wonderland Plaza,
you'll want to go through Leisure Park, into the Food Court and then into
Wonderland. The arrow associated with Above The Law may be pointing towards
the Entrance Plaza, but take the Leisure Park route since it is guaranteed
to be much safer at this point in time.

If you haven't been to the Wonderland Plaza in awhile, you will likely
encounter two survivors hanging from the statue to the far right of the
entrance from the Food Court. As you can see, these people are surrounded by
zombies. You will have to clear most of the zombies here to save them, this
can be accomplished easily if you happen to have a queen in your inventory.
If you don't have anything to use, use the double lariat attack by pressing
up on the d-pad, then pushing down on the left control stick and tapping the
X button.

When most of the zombies surrounding Nick and Sally are gone, you can take a
picture of each of them to receive 10,000 points a piece. Just stand behind
them, aim the camera so they are in the middle of the shot, zoom in and take
the picture. After that, pick up a hunk of meat on the ground, hold RT, aim
at one of them and press the X button to throw the meat. When you hit them
with the meet, they will fall down. Do this to both of them, then speak to
both of them to get them in the group. Don't give them any weapons at this
point. The Lovely Fashion House store that the cop went into is along the
walkway of the Wonderland Plaza. Step inside here to start the psychopath
battle.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Jo Slade -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

A disturbing scene awaits you once you step into the Lovely Fashion
House. Jo Slade, a... large female cop, is abusing a woman for some
reason. The reason could possibly be that Jo is completely insane? Yeah,
that's it. Whatever the reason, you need to save the women that are
being held by Jo in this store. If you have saved Nick and Sally, as
soon as you gain control over Frank again, immediately tell them to
stand in a corner so they don't get hurt during the fight. If they stay
in the corner and do not do anything, Jo shouldn't attack them or
anything. Make sure that they do not have guns because if they do have
a weapon they will attempt to help you by shooting at Jo, which will
turn her attention on them instead of you.

All in all I would say Jo is one of the easiest Psychopath's in the
game. If you brought a katana with you, this will be an easy fight. If
not, a sledgehammer, shotgun or SMG are fine too. Jo is very slow when
her attention isn't focused on you. She will walk around the store when
you are out and randomly kick and tazer the tied up women. Jo's attacks
are quite easy to avoid, but if they connect they can do a lot of damage.
Jo uses her tazer on you, if it connects you will be incapacitated for
about 5 seconds. While you are in this state, Jo will walk around the
store and harm the women. She doesn't do enough damage to them for it
to really matter though, once you are able to move again her attention
will quickly shift back to you. She also has a simple bludgeon attack as
well, she is very slow to use this so you can usually hit her with a
melee weapon to stagger her and prevent her from using it.

Jo is quite fast when she is after you, but you can easily avoid her by
moving behind a display case to separate yourself from her. Melee is
most definitely the way to go for this. Her attacks, as I have mentioned
before, are very slow. You can easily avoid them and move behind her
while she is tazering air. When Jo is dead, be sure to take a picture of
her dead body for the psychopath pictures achievements.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Jo Slade -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

You will receive the handcuff key and you can take Jo's stun gun if you wish.
Move around the store and rescue the four trapped girls. Once everyone is
free, lead them to the ladies room in the Wonderland Plaza. Take the duct to
the Paradise Plaza, then proceed to lead them to the security room.

==============================================================================
...Mark of the Sniper..................................................(m13)..
==============================================================================
There are three scoop missions that can all be completed in the Entrance Plaza.
"Mark of the Sniper," "The Woman Who Didn't Make It" and "Antique Lover." You
should receive a call from Otis on the transceiver about these missions around
4:00PM. Apparently, a group of snipers has taken control of the Entrance
Plaza. Before you enter the Entrance Plaza, make sure that you stop by the
Colombian Roastmasters and grab some orange juice from the fridge, then jump
off onto the awning and take the katana here.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopaths!! - Roger, Jack and Thomas Hall -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

As soon as you enter the Entrance Plaza, you will witness a short
cutscene. Sheesh, and you thought your family had issues. Roger, Jack
and Thomas Hall are camping on the walkway above the Entrance Plaza. The
Hall family are armed with sniper rifles, and they're aiming for you!
Roger Hall, the father of the family, insists that it's for survival
reasons. Sure, just follow me back to the security room and you'll
survive just fine! Unfortunately, there is no reasoning with this family
of psychopaths. You will have to defend yourself by killing them. The
Hall family isn't very tough to defeat luckily. Each time you get hit
by a bullet from one of their sniper rifles, you will more than likely
sustain minimal damage.

As soon as you gain control of Frank after the cutscene, turn around
and run up the stairs behind you. This will lead you to the walkway that
the halls are gunning from. Stay to the left side of the walkway and run
in the direction towards the Hall family. As you run by, duck into the
Shooting Star Sporting Goods store to your right. Since the Hall family
can't see you now, they should run in front of the store so they can
continue to attack you. You should have brought a katana or sledgehammer
for this mission, these work very well against the Halls. When you
notice one of them stop in front of the store, run out and start hitting
them with your weapon. The Halls won't shoot you if you are close to
them and they won't hit you either, they will simply choose to run away
from you so they can shoot you from a safe distance.

The Halls can be hard to hit with a melee weapon if you are chasing
after them, but you should be able to run faster than each of them at
this point. Concentrate on one of them, as they will split up and run
in different directions. While running after one, run so you are a bit
in front of them, so it is like they are running with you, then strike
with your weapon in the spot where they are going to be. A katana should
be able to sweep these guys up relatively quickly. If you're not a fan
of melee weapons, you can use guns instead. A shotgun or SMG works well.
You basically just chase after them, while they are running away, just
aim and shoot them, then run to cover up the distance. If you need to
restore your health, simply duck into one of the stores along the walk-
way and down a drink to gain some health. As soon as you kill one of
them, take the time to snap a picture of their corpse. If you wait too
long, their body disappears. Each one of them counts towards the Psycho
Collector achievement.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopaths!! - Roger, Jack and Thomas Hall -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

When the Hall family has been dealt with, there are several survivors to save
from here. Wayne, the target of the snipers, can be found in the cosmetics
store at the top of the stairs. Jolie, the survivor from "The Woman Who Didn't
Make It" can be found in the Gramma's Kids store on the first level. Talk to
her, then start to leave, she will follow you. Lead her up to the Ladies Space
store on the second level and gather her friend Rachel from here. You can take
a picture of them when they hug to earn some points. Lastly, grab Floyd from
the antique store on the second level. After a short conversation, he'll
agree to go with you. Now that you have everyone here, lead them through
the Entrance Plaza, through Paradise Plaza and into the security room.

==============================================================================
...The Woman Who Didn't Make It........................................(m14)..
==============================================================================
You will receive a call from Otis about a woman in a children's toy store at
around 4:00PM. Save this woman after killing the Psychopath's associated with
the "Mark of the Sniper" mission, which also takes place in the Entrance
Plaza. Jolie can be found in the Gramma's Kids store on the ground level of
the Entrance Plaza. She tells you of her friend Rachel who she believes has
been killed by zombies. She mentions that she had to leave her behind in the
Ladies Space store. Attempt to leave the store and Jolie will join the group.
You have to bring Jolie up to Ladies Space or Rachel won't listen to you. You
can gain some extra points by taking a picture of them when they hug.

==============================================================================
...Antique Lover.......................................................(m15)..
==============================================================================
You will receive a call from Otis about an unusually calm man in an antique
store on the second floor of the Entrance Plaza. Save this man after killing
the Psychopath's associated with the "Mark of the Sniper" mission, which also
takes place in the Entrance Plaza. Floyd can be found in the antique store
that is located along the walkway on the upper level of the Entrance Plaza.
After a rather long conversation, Floyd will eventually agree to go with you.
You can carry him on your back if you like, though he can walk so this isn't
entirely necessary.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- September 21st - [s03]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==============================================================================
...A Strange Group.....................................................(m16)..
==============================================================================
Otis should call you on the transceiver about this mission at around 1:00AM.
You may as well get this one done since you can save a lot of people to earn
some massive PP. This mission takes place in the Colby's Movieland cinema in
the Paradise Plaza. Apparently Otis has spotted a group of strange people
wearing yellow raincoats and masks. You probably know which group he is
talking about, since you've undoubtedly had previous encounters with the
strange True Eye cult group. You will need to travel to Colby's and kill the
leader to disband the cult once and for all. Make sure that you grab the
sledgehammer on the shelf in the warehouse on your way out of the security
room. Also, visit the Colombian Roastmasters restaurant on the second floor
of the Paradise Plaza to pick up some orange juice, as well as the katana on
the awning below the window just to the right of the juice fridge.

When you have everything you need, proceed into the theater. If you have ever
taken the time and stopped to look at the various purple True Eye flyers
posted around the mall, you'll know exactly where to find the cult leader.
As soon as you enter the theater, take the hall straight ahead, follow it and
turn to your right as soon as you can. You'll encounter a group of True Eye
cult members, blocking your path. This is where the sledgehammer comes in
handy. If you picked up this weapon, take it out and stand in the middle of
the pack. Hold the X button to swing the hammer around, knocking any cult
members it hits off their feet. Use this method a couple of time to kill all
of the cult members standing in your path, preventing you from entering the
theater. Sean, the cult leader, can be found in Theatre 4. Enter this theater
to start the psychopath battle.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Sean Keanan-
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

When you step into theatre #4, you will witness Sean, the leader of the
yellow raincoat outfit, performing some kind of ritual. As the video
depicts, Sean has some people tied to seats in the movie theatre. You
must kill Sean to free these people. Luckily Sean is alone when you are
fighting him, so you will only have to deal with him and not the yellow
raincoat wearing cult members as well. Sean uses a sword as a weapon,
he is very quick with this sword and each hit that connects deals a fair
amount of damage. You will have to use a melee weapon against Sean,
since he almost always manages to dodge any bullets that you shoot at
with a gun. He's fast too, so it's hard to hit him anyway. Probably the
best weapon to use against Sean is the sledgehammer. By using this
weapon's primary attack by simply tapping the X button, you can kill
Sean quite quickly.

Sean, as I have mentioned before, is quite fast. It is very hard to
outrun him when he is running towards you, but his attacks aren't too
hard to dodge. If you still have a sledgehammer in your inventory, this
battle will be very easy. If not, you can still use the katana, it is
also an effective melee weapon when used against Sean, though not quite
as effective as the sledgehammer. Wait until Sean has just swung his
sword, then hit him with the sledgehammer or katana. Try not to attack
him while standing in front of him, because he can quickly recover from
your attacks and dash out with his sword to throw you back. You can also
attack him when he is trying to attack you, for some reason if you use a
sledgehammer on him while he is attacking, he can't seem to hit you with
his sword. Most likely you will need to heal at least once, since you
may take quite a bit of damage while you're trying to take Sean down.

You'll have to run away from Sean if you want to drink something, try to
jump over seats to separate yourself from him and drink while he is
trying to move around to get to you. Overall, this is one of the easier
psychopath battles, if you are well prepared of course. When Sean dies,
be sure to take a picture of his body for the Psycho Collector achievem-
ent. You can pick up and use the sword that he was wielding as well.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Sean Keanan -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

It's not over yet, the remaining cult members will form a line outside and
quickly flood into the theater. Sean's sword can easily cut up all of these
cultists. Once all of the cultists are dead, walk around the theater and free
the tied up hostages. Sean also drops a warehouse key, use this to open the
locked door near Beth to free an additional survivor named Cheryl. You can
pick up the "Brainwashing Tips" book from Sean too, this makes survivors more
aggressive. Not the most useful book, but if you give everyone a weapon it can
make it easier to bring them back to the security room. The Paradise Plaza
is crawling with zombies at this point, lead the group up the stairs, pass the
Colombian Roastmasters, go down the stairs at the end and enter the warehouse.

==============================================================================
...Long-Haired Punk....................................................(m17)..
==============================================================================
You should receive a call from Otis on the transceiver about a guy with long
hair spotted in a women's clothing store around 6:00AM. The Casual Gal's
clothing store is located in the Wonderland Plaza. At this point, it is still
much easier to get to the Wonderland Plaza by traveling through Leisure Park,
through the food court and then into the plaza. Don't follow the guide arrow
associated with this mission this time, as it will try to lead you through
the Entrance Plaza into the Al Fresca Plaza that is absolutely packed with
zombies. When you enter the food court, you will encounter a man named Gil,
drinking in the Chris' Fine Foods restaurant to your left. He's not handling
the whole zombie outbreak thing very well, so he's resorted to drinking.

Talk to the drunk, hit him with something then talk to him a few more times.
He will eventually join you. Get your camera ready, when he does a pose and
the PP icon appears over his head, snap a picture of this to earn some extra
PP. He is too drunk to walk unfortunately, so you'll have to support him.
Since you are heading to the Wonderland Plaza to investigate the Casual Gals
clothing store, there's no point in taking Gil back to the security room just
yet. You should take him with you, then lead him back to the security room
along with the other survivors in this scoop mission. Grab some wine and then
support Gil, lead him through the food court and into the Wonderland Plaza.
In the Wonderland Plaza, walk along the stores to your left under the walkway.
Find the Casual Gals clothing store and bring Gil inside.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Paul Carson -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

Sheesh, this kid has some problems. His parents obviously went wrong
somewhere. Maybe he wasn't hugged enough as a child. Paul Carson, an
angry teenager, has trapped two women in the Casual Gals store. He
seems to be quite the arsonist, as he has an unlimited supply of molotov
cocktails. While these explosive items are dangerous, this battle is
really quite easy. Just make sure you have either a sledgehammer or
a katana and plenty of healing items. If you have Gil the drunk with you
as soon as you gain control over Frank immediately command him to wait
somewhere in the Casual Gals clothing store while you pursue Paul. Run
to Paul and start attacking him with your melee weapon of choice. I've
managed to kill him before he could even leave the store, but this isn't
very likely as he usually manages to get away from you. He will then
proceed to run through the entire mall, throwing cocktails behind him
to hinder your pursual.

Guns work well here too, but Paul is very fast and the best chance
you have to damage him is to run up to him with a melee weapon when he
is either out of breath or lighting a cocktail and attack him. While he
is running through the Wonderland Plaza, he will drops bombs. You need
to be weary of these, since they do a lot of damage and they will throw
you back, allowing Paul to get even further ahead of you. He may also
leave homing bombs on the ground that will roll towards you, just run
past to avoid these. When you see a bomb dropped by Paul, either hang
back a bit and wait for it to go off, or move around it if you are on
his tail. Always keep after him because occasionally he will stop to
light another cocktail and also sometimes he will stop to catch his
breath. Hit him when he is performing one of these actions. If you use a
sledgehammer's primary attack by tapping the X button, you can usually
knock Paul to the ground, where you can hit him again and again until he
is dead. Chase after Paul and repeat this process until Paul's health
bar is completely depleted.

Once you have defeated Paul, you will find yourself back in the Casual Gals
clothing store. Paul ends up lighting himself on fire, you can choose to save
him at this point by grabbing the fire extinguisher in the store to extinguish
the flames. Wait to long and he will burn to death. Take a picture of him to
earn some extra PP. If you save him, he will eventually make you molotov
cocktails. Grab the fire extinguisher and aim it towards the flames. You will
have to use about 50% of the fire extinguisher to put out the fire. Once it's
out, Paul has a change of heart. He wants to be rescued, so he will follow you
back to the security room. Now save the ladies who are locked in the closet in
the store. Speak to them and they will join the group.

If the "A Sick Man" scoop mission is active for you at this point, save the
man associated with this mission as well. Depending on the time, a woman named
Susan can be found on the giant soccer ball below the space rider near the
entrance of the food court. If she is there, rescue this woman as well. I
don't think she appears if you have Gil in your party, since you will need
to hold her hand because she can't run without losing her breath. If you want
to save her and you have Gil with you, return afterwards and she should be
there. Since you are in the Wonderland Plaza, you can use the shortcut in the
ladies room to jump to the Paradise Plaza. From here, head up the stairs to
the right of the washroom and lead the survivors safely to the security room.

...A Sick Man..........................................................(m18)..
==============================================================================
Otis should call you about a sick man in the Wonderland Plaza at around
10:00AM. You can find this sick man in Estelle's Fine-Lady Cosmetics store in
the Wonderland Plaza. This is a simple escort mission, despite being sick you
don't need to carry or support this man. A woman named Susan might be on the
giant soccer ball below the space rider. If she is there, rescue this woman as
well. Since you are in the Wonderland Plaza, you can use the shortcut in the
ladies room to jump to the Paradise Plaza. From here, head up the stairs to
the right of the washroom and lead the survivor(s) safely back to the security
room.

==============================================================================
...A Photographer's Pride..............................................(m19)..
==============================================================================
This quest may conflict with the 7-2 case "Bomb Collector". If you have compl-
eted the "Photo Challenge" Scoop mission on the second day, you should meet
Kent as soon as you step out of the warehouse and into the Paradise Plaza.
Kent has clearly lost it, he wants to get a picture of a human's transformati-
on into a zombie. You can't let that happen, you will have to kill Kent. As
soon as this quest becomes active (meaning it is no longer faded out on the
mission list) immediately (unless you're doing an important case mission and
running out of time) make your way to the Paradise Plaza where the battle
will be fought. If you are late for the meeting that Kent put into place the
previous day after the photo challenge, he will be angry and something
very unpleasant will happen to you. You cannot save the survivor being held
hostage by Kent, and you will have to fight him with your bare hands. For
simplicity's sake, just get there in time!

Psychopath!! - Kent -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

Kent isn't very tough to beat, but he is very fast and his kicks deal
a large amount of damage. Kent uses a handgun to shoot at you, which
can stagger you a bit, then he usually runs, jumps into the air and
directs a flying kick towards you. These kicks are quite easy to avoid,
since you can usually see them coming, just dodge to the side to avoid
them. Make sure that you grab the sledgehammer from the shelf in the
warehouse before you set out to face Kent. This weapon will make real
short work of him. Just use the weapon's primary X button attack to
bring the hammer down on him. You only need to get ten hits tops on him
before he goes down. When Kent falls, take his advice and snap a picture
of him. This'll go towards the Psycho Collector achievement if you still
need photos of psychopaths.

After the battle, free Tad and lead him back to the security room. You can
grab the "Camera 2" book from Kent. It will increase the PP you receive from
photos by 100%. Take it if you have the extra inventory space. The Paradise
Plaza will be pretty much empty, so it will be very easy to take him back. If
you receive a call about the "A Woman In Despair" scoop, stop by the Players
CD store and pick her up. If you received the call from Otis concerning
Kindell's betrayal, be sure to stop by the security room to talk some sense
into him before moving on.

==============================================================================
...A Woman In Despair..................................................(m20)..
==============================================================================
You should receive a call about an injured woman in the Players CD store in
the Paradise Plaza at around the same time you receive the "Bomb Collecting"
case mission. This quest can be done before you proceed to the Maintenance
Tunnels to get the time bombs, since the Players store is very close to the
warehouse. Simone, the woman in this scoop, has been bitten. At first she will
refuse to go with you to the security room, but continue talking to her and
Frank will eventually mention Isabela. Simone will then agree to go with you
to safety.

==============================================================================
...Convicts............................................................(m21)..
==============================================================================
The convicts will first appear in the Leisure Park area around 6:00PM on the
19th. When you first encounter these psychopaths, you are probably not going
to be very well armed, since it is still rather early into the game. Before
even attempting to face off against them, make sure that you have any type
of gun on you, a handgun at the very least. When you kill the convicts, they
will continue to spawn in the Leisure Park area from now on. Later in the game
however, you will have more powerful guns, which makes taking out these guys
much easier. The weapon of choice against the convicts is probably the sniper
rifle, since you can probably pick off the gunner from a distance before they
can even drive up to you. They are terrorizing a woman named Sophie in the
park who you can rescue.

Killing these guys with a handgun is no easy task, so make sure you have
plenty of wine in your inventory. Basically what you want to do here is get
the jeep stuck against a tree. Find one of the wider trees and run around it
until they crash into it. Take cover behind the tree, then quickly pop out to
get a few headshots on the gunner. His gun is very powerful, so be careful. If
you are low on health, use the tree as a shield against the bullets while you
down some wine. Of course, the zombies here don't make things any easier,
you'll have to fight them off with a melee weapon while you are trying to kill
the psychopaths. When the gunner goes down, run around to the back of the jeep
and grab the mounted machine gun. With the machine gun in hand, run around the
sides of the jeep and shoot the convicts in the two front seats.

==============================================================================
...Cletus..............................................................(m22)..
==============================================================================
I'm not completely sure when Cletus first appears at the Hunting Shack, or
how long he remains there. Make sure that you have at least received the call
from Otis about the man in the North Plaza, he will definitely be there if so.
This side quest is probably best completed during the "Shadow of the North
Plaza" that takes place during September 19th. If you visit the Hunting Shack
located in the North Plaza, you'll encounter a psychopath named Cletus. Before
saving the man associated with the "Shadow of the North Plaza" mission, set
your sights on taking out Cletus first. Cletus is quite hard to defeat, just
have tons of drinks in your inventory to restore health. Melee weapons aren't
particularly effective against this psychopath, so lean more towards the
guns. Inside the North Plaza, press the Back button to call up the map.
Locate the Huntin' Shack and make your way to this location.

+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+
Psychopath!! - Cletus -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

After a short video that demonstrates Cletus' ruthlessness, as soon as
you gain control over Frank, take cover behind one of the display items.
As you have surely already noticed, Cletus is packing a shotgun behind
the counter. Bad news for you, as this is a very powerful weapon that
will knock your health down quite a bit. Make sure that you remain in
behind the display objects. Even if you are behind these, you can still
get hurt since the shotgun's fire spreads. Only pop out to shoot Cletus
while he is reloading his shotgun. This is your window of opportunity.
Don't stay out of cover for too long though, since Cletus can reload his
shotgun relatively quickly. When Cletus takes a drink of wine, there is
also a chance for you to get a few shots in.

Don't even really try to melee this guy, if you try to get close to him
Cletus will grab you and throw you into the middle of the store, leaving
you open for a nice clear shotgun blast. If you are low on health, hope-
fully you brought some drinks with you, take cover behind one of the
display objects and drink to regain some health. If you didn't bring a
handgun, you can smash the display case in the middle of the store to
and take one. If you're the daring type, you can attempt to jump over
the counter and grab a sniper rifle or shotgun.

If you can manage to get your hands on one of these guns, things are
much easier. Just use the same routine as with the handgun, but with the
more powerful weapon. If you can take the abuse, go for it. There are
some bottles of wine behind the counter if you can manage to grab some
while you are there. The sniper rifle is ideal here, just use the scope
to get in some easy headshots on the redneck. The sniper rifle is on the
rack to the right. If you run out of ammo with that gun, jump over and
grab the shotgun to the left. With the shotgun, all you need to do is
out from cover when he is drinking or reloading and shoot him in the
face a couple of times. When Cletus finally goes down, be sure to snap a
picture of the dead redneck, if you are after the achievements associa-
ted with the psychopath's pictures.

Psychopath!! - Cletus -
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--+

With that done, take some guns and then follow the arrow of "Shadow of the
North Plaza" to help the man associated with that mission if it is active.

==============================================================================
...Cultists............................................................(m23)..
==============================================================================
The cultists first appear in the Paradise Plaza area at around 2:00PM on the
second day. From that time on, the next time you enter the Paradise Plaza, you
will witness a short cutscene involving the True Eye cult. Pretty lame cult
if their base of operations is in the... local mall of all places. Anyway,
the cutscene depicts a woman named Jennifer being put into a crate by the
cultists. Frank, seemingly unresponsive to the young girl's cries for help,
decides that this would be a good time to take pictures. That is when the
cultists turn to you.

You will have to kill all of the cultists around the plaza. Since there are
many of them, they can be quite tough, but if you have a sledgehammer simply
hold the X button. This should clear all of them out rather easily. If you
don't have anything to use, use the double lariat attack by pressing up on
the d-pad, then pushing down on the left control stick and tapping the X
button. Be careful, the yellow raincoat cultists will sometimes attach bombs
to themselves and run at you. While they move slow in the beginning, they may
run at you suddenly and pierce you with the knife they carry. You can be taken
away by these cultists if they blow smoke in your face. When you get knocked
out, you will be carried to their base of operations. All of your items will
be taken from you, excluding the camera and transceiver (go figure). I don't
think you can get these items back. You can grab the sword from the red cloth
in the main area to kill the cultists. You will need to kill all of them to
receive the pass code to open the door so you can escape.

There are a couple of PP stickers in their base, so if you are after those
for the achievement, you have no choice but to let them take you away.
Initially, once you have defeated all of the cultists in the Paradise Plaza,
you can open the box and free the woman inside. Take this woman to the
security room to save her. From this point forward, until you complete the "A
Strange Group" mission on the third day, the cultists will spawn randomly in
groups at any location in the mall. Once you kill their leader, they will stop
spawning. You get 500 PP a piece for killing a cultist, so if you see a large
group of them, consider clearing them out to gain some much needed PP.

==============================================================================
...Ronald's Appetite...................................................(m24)..
==============================================================================
If you saved Ronald during the "The Restaurant Man" mission on September 20th,
eventually you will receive a call from Otis, he tells you that Ronald is
getting worried about the lack of food in the security room and is forming
a group of people to enter the mall to scavenge the area for food. You have
plenty of time, but if you don't complete this scoop, you'll likely loose
some survivors. Bring some food back to the security room. Locate Ronald and
talk to him, then give him the food object. You will receive 10,000 points for
avoiding the possible mutiny.

==============================================================================
...Floyd the Sommelier.................................................(m25)..
==============================================================================
If you saved Floyd during the "Antique Man" mission, you will eventually
receive a call from Otis. He tells you that Floyd thinks you could lighten the
mood if you bring some wine back to the security room. You don't need to do
this, but if you do you will receive 10,000 points for fulfilling the request.
You can take some wine from one of the restaurant to your left in the Food
Court as soon as you enter from Leisure Park. Bring at least one bottle back,
talk to Floyd, then hand over the bottle of wine.

==============================================================================
...Kindell's Betrayal..................................................(m26)..
==============================================================================
If you brought the man Kindell from the North Plaza with you when you encoun-
tered him during the 5-2 case "Transporting Isabella," eventually you will
receive a call from Otis concerning Kindell. He tells you that Kindell is
basically freaking out, claiming that the helicopter won't arrive and that
they'll all be stuck there for ever. He is trying to get the group of surviv-
ors together so they can enter the mall and try to find another way out. You
have a good amount of time to complete this, but just make sure that you
complete this scoop before the time runs out or you will likely lose surviv-0
ors. Speak to Kindell in the security room after you receive the call and
Frank will talk some sense into him. You will receive 10,000 points for
avoiding the possible mutiny.

==============================================================================
...Hostile Survivors...................................................(m27)..
==============================================================================
Make sure you have a picture of the Air Duct leading to the Security Room from
the Rooftop area before you go after these people! On the third day, if you
visit the Huntin' Shack in the North Plaza you will encounter three survivors
who are camping in the store. Do not step too far into the store, as you will
be welcomed by a barrage of bullets. While you are getting shot at, you will
probably be staggering, unable to move very much. Slowly turn around and let
the bullets push you back out the door. One of the survivors will come to the
door to check on you. When the man comes to the door, head in and speak to
him. Stay back still, if you move too far in the people behind the counter
will start shooting at you again.

Talk to Jonathan about and eventually Frank will mention the security room.
The group will demand to see a picture of the air duct that leads down to the
security room before they will go with you. If you don't have one on hand, you
will have no choice but to run back to the rooftop, take a picture of the air
duct and then return to the survivors in the North Plaza. Once you have shown
them the picture of the air duct that they requested to see, they will join
the group. All of them have guns, so they won't be very hard to escort. You
should lead them through the Leisure Park area since it will be much faster.
You do have the convicts to deal with, but by now you should have the equipm-
ent from the Huntin' Shack to deal with them. Be sure to take Brett's machine
gun from him before you bring the survivors to the security room.

==============================================================================
...Paul's Present......................................................(m28)..
==============================================================================
If you chose to save Paul after his change of heart during the "Long-Haired
Freak" mission on the 21st, eventually you will receive a call from Otis. He
tells you that Paul has a present for you. The next time you are in the
security room, speak to Paul. He will give you a molotov cocktail. A great
thing to throw into a crowd of zombies!

==============================================================================
...Simone The Gunslinger...............................................(m29)..
==============================================================================
If you took the time to rescue Simone, the woman in the "A Woman in Despair"
scoop mission, Otis will eventually call you with a request from Simone.
Simone would like you to bring her a handgun. Handguns are very easy to find,
a lot of the police zombies will have them, just knock them down and take it.
Simone only wants the gun just incase she turns into a zombie, so it's safe
to give it to her. Deliver the gun to Simone and you will receive 10,000 PP
for fulfilling her request.

==============================================================================
...Cheryl's Request....................................................(m30)..
==============================================================================
If you saved Cheryl from the movie theatre warehouse during the "A Strange
Group" scoop mission, you will eventually receive a call from Otis on the
transmitter about her. He tells you that she wants to ask you a favor, you
need to speak to her in the security room. The next time you are in the
security room, find and speak to Cheryl. Cheryl would like you to take some
pictures of her. She wants you to focus on her... "important" parts. Take a
few pictures of her while she is in a few different poses. You will receive
10,000 PP for fulfilling Cheryl's request.
